Interested in Being a Referee? Earn Extra Money!

Interested in becoming a lacrosse referee? It can be an excellent way to get some exercise and make money this spring and summer. For inquires on becoming a referee contact us.

From VP Officiating of the Ontario Lacrosse Association: "Officiating lacrosse is truly a rewarding experience. Referees and umpires are crucial to the sport - without them, we cannot play. There are many reasons why people begin officiating, and even more reasons why referees and umpires return year after year."

Age Requirement
Referees must be a minimum of fourteen (14) years of age during the year they wish to begin officiating. At age 14, officials will be assigned to paperweight, tyke and novice assignments, pending skill level.

Prerequisites
Familiarity with game and rules of Box Lacrosse.
Regardless of age, it is recommended that all prospective officials participate as timekeepers to gain experience in the game environment.

Equipment

Referees are required to wear the established uniform and helmet at all times while officiating. Referees are responsible for providing this equipment
